Arsenal next?- Fans excited as £10million rated defender spotted in London ahead of move

Real Valladolid defender Fernando Calero is in London sparking Arsenal transfer rumours.
Calero, 23, has been tipped to join the Gunners in January, says The Sun.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery is said to be a big fan of his compatriot – but the player has shot down claims that means he’ll be on the move to the Emirates.
He wrote on Twitter on Christmas Eve: “‘I’m a little tired of being told false information about myself. I’m just enjoying my free days with my girlfriend in London. Merry Christmas.”
Calero has a £9.8m release clause in his Valladolid contract.
Some Arsenal fans jumped the conclusion he’s in London to negotiate a transfer, others with Emery tipped to make new signings this January after losing key defenders due to injuries.
Nacho Monreal and Shkodran Mustafi are doubts to play at Brighton today because of hamstring injuries.
Right-back Hector Bellerin and centre-backs Rob Holding, Konstantinos Mavropanos are all out for the Amex Stadium trip, along with talented youngster Emile Smith Rowe.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Danny Welbeck are also unavailable.

There are no games in La Liga now until January 3, with Calero’s Valladolid not playing until January 5 – against Rayo Vallecano.

Emery confirms worrying transfer news for Arsenal on Thursday

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has confirmed some worrying news for Arsenal fans with less than three weeks now left in the January transfer window.   The Arsenal boss managed to sign several players during the summer but most of the deals were for a cheap price, significantly lesser than what rivals Chelsea and Liverpool were paying for their new signings. Club owner Stan Kroenke has been criticised by most fans for refusing to spend enough money when needed in the transfer market. Following the recent 5-1 humiliation away to Liverpool in the Premier League which exposed most of the team’s serious problems, several fans have been calling for signings to be made this month. However, speaking on transfers at his press conference on Thursday morning, Unai Emery revealed that the club is not financially capable of making any permanent purchases of players at the moment. Thus, the Arsenal boss insists that loans deal will be the Gunners’ best bet in the January transfer windo...
