Arsenal plotting ‘quick’ deal for £12million rated star in January

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is set to dip his toes into the January market as he seeks to address the goalkeeping woes plaguing his side.
Petr Cech has failed to adapt to Emery’s play-out-from-the-back philosophy, while new signing Bernd Leno has looked extremely shaky in between the sticks the last few games.
The Gunners brought in Bernd Leno as a long-term replacement for Cech during the summer, while the Czech remains as backup at the Emirates Stadium.
However, according to El Confidencial, Emery is ‘in a rush’ to secure the signature of Navas at the midway point of the campaign.
Navas has made 149 outings since joining Real in 2014, but the 32-year-old now finds himself on the bench after the arrival of Thibaut Courtois.
The Costa Rican stopper still has just over 18 months remaining on his contract, but it has been suggested that Real would consider any offers in the region of £12m.
Leno has managed just one clean sheet in the league since taking over the role of starting keeper from Cech, whilst committing notable blunders against both Tottenham and Southampton.

If Arsenal are to secure a Champions League berth next season, they will need to tighten up at the back, and that starts with the goalkeeper.

Emery confirms worrying transfer news for Arsenal on Thursday

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has confirmed some worrying news for Arsenal fans with less than three weeks now left in the January transfer window.   The Arsenal boss managed to sign several players during the summer but most of the deals were for a cheap price, significantly lesser than what rivals Chelsea and Liverpool were paying for their new signings. Club owner Stan Kroenke has been criticised by most fans for refusing to spend enough money when needed in the transfer market. Following the recent 5-1 humiliation away to Liverpool in the Premier League which exposed most of the team’s serious problems, several fans have been calling for signings to be made this month. However, speaking on transfers at his press conference on Thursday morning, Unai Emery revealed that the club is not financially capable of making any permanent purchases of players at the moment. Thus, the Arsenal boss insists that loans deal will be the Gunners’ best bet in the January transfer windo...
