Arsenal are preparing a January bid for Legia Warsaw’s starlet Radoslaw Majeck as the English side plot a significant re-shuffle of the goalkeeping department in the summer transfer window.
The Evening Standard claims that the Gunners scouted the 19-year-old and the Poland Under-20 international was thought not to be ready for the first team and would be loaned back immediately to Legia if the north London club completes his transfer next month.
Bernd Leno has emerged as the club’s No.1 after starting the season behind experienced Petr Cech, who started between the posts for last night’s 2-0 loss against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.
The 36-year-old is yet to decide whether or not to commit to Arsenal beyond the end of the current campaign when his contract expires.
Emiliano Martinez, who has been loaned out five times already during his Arsenal career, is the club’s current third choice and although Unai Emery has been impressed by the 26-year-old in training he has used the Argentine only once this season.
David Ospina is currently on-loan at Napoli and expected to leave Emirates permanently in the upcoming summer window.
