THE ARSENAL PLAYER IS THE JOINT TOP SCORER FOR ARSENAL IN EUROPA LEAGUE AND HAS REVEALED THAT HE ONCE REJECTED BARCELONA TO MOVE TO JOIN THE EMIRATES.
Over the years Arsenal have managed to lure many La Masia stars. The North London club over the years have signed players from La Masia academy. The likes of Fabregas, Bellerin and Joe Lopez all have been signed by the Gunners. However, it seems Barcelona were also keen to sign this Arsenal prodigy. But it seems the Englishman rejected the offer to join the Catalan giants.
Emile Smith Rowe turned down the chance to sign for Barcelona to continue his development at Arsenal. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder became the first player born in the 2000s to appear for the Gunners when he played in the Europa League against Vorskla Poltava in September.
He has scored three goals in six competitive appearances for the first team to cement his reputation as one of the top talents in world football. A World Cup winner with England Under 17s. Smith Rowe has been gaining admiring glances from Europe’s elite clubs for some time.
The Croydon youngster was rewarded with a new long-term contract at the Emirates during the summer and his development in north London has not gone unnoticed.
