Arsenal Receive Boost In Pursuit Of £50m-rated Left-Back

Ben Chilwell

Arsenal have been handed a huge boost in the chase of highly rated England international left-back Ben Chilwell following the news that Premier League champions and moneybags Manchester City have cooled their interest.
Earlier reports had claimed that the Citizens will splash £50m on the young defender when the January transfer window reopens in two weeks time only for the Manchester City manager to confirm that the club won’t sign anyone during the upcoming transfer market.
Pep Guardiola revealed that Manchester City will not sign any player in the next transfer window in January 2019.
The new development means that Arsenal only have to battle with North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in their pursuit of the 21-year-old.
Ben Chilwell plays his club football for Premier League side Leicester City at the moment.
He signed a new Leicester City contract in September to take him to 2024 but that has not stopped transfer rumours involving the Englishman.
Ben Chilwell has had a phenomenal year after he made his debut for the Three Lions of England in September.
He played for the first time in the colours of the England senior national team during the 1-0 win over Switzerland at the Wembley Stadium courtesy the goal from Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.
