Arsenal step up transfer pursuit of ideal Mesut Ozil replacement with £72million asking price

Arsenal have reportedly stepped up their interest in Real Madrid playmaker Isco in the last few days as manager Unai Emery is a big fan.
This rumour from Diario Gol follows other similar stories recently, with the timing making sense as Mesut Ozil falls out of favour at the Emirates Stadium.

The former Germany international’s future at Arsenal is in some doubt, with the Independenteven claiming the Gunners could try swapping him for Isco.

The latest from Diario Gol is that Real are considering selling the unsettled star if they receive an offer of around £72million, with Arsenal currently showing the most interest.
Gooners would surely be pretty happy with this, even if it’s not entirely clear why Emery continues to freeze Ozil out.

Following the recent 5-1 humiliation away to Liverpool in the Premier League which exposed most of the team’s serious problems, several fans have been calling for signings to be made this month. However, speaking on transfers at his press conference on Thursday morning, Unai Emery revealed that the club is not financially capable of making any permanent purchases of players at the moment. Thus, the Arsenal boss insists that loans deal will be the Gunners’ best bet in the January transfer windo...
