Lucas Torreira to play against Brighton despite ban threat | Brighton vs Arsenal

Unai Emery does not believe in keeping his players on bench for big games. And he is doing the same for his smallest in stature yet biggest and most important play maker, Lucas Torreira. The Uruguay international is on the brink of being suspended for the Liverpool fixture, if he gets himself a yellow card today.
Despite being near the danger line, Unai Emery is determined to bring Lucas against Brighton and that the midfielder will play in full throttle. Emery will not sit back and stop Torreira from performing so that he can play against Liverpool in upcoming weekend game.
Perhaps the midfielder will have to be utterly cautious in a physically inclined game to avoid fifth yellow card of the season which will keep him out of next game. If the midfielder gets booked against Brighton he will have to miss the flight to Anfield 3 days later.
Indeed if this happens, Arsenal will lose one of their most reliable player in Lucas Torreira in the ‘very important’ Liverpool fixture, which will be a big blow as they will have to without Torreira’s creativity and brilliance. On being asked about Torreira’s inclusion
“In my career I never did this decision,” Emery said. “We are going to play the next match in Brighton and we are going to play full, not conceding options, taking more precautions with the players.
“It’s the same three points in Brighton as in Liverpool. We’re going to play first in Brighton, it’s a tough, difficult match where we need every player with 100 per cent focus to do all on the pitch to win.
Could I tell him to ease off? I don’t know but I don’t want him to think about the possibility of a yellow card.
Apart from Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi is also in the brink of a match ban and both will have to be cautious enough to hold back from getting booked.

Emery confirms worrying transfer news for Arsenal on Thursday

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has confirmed some worrying news for Arsenal fans with less than three weeks now left in the January transfer window.   The Arsenal boss managed to sign several players during the summer but most of the deals were for a cheap price, significantly lesser than what rivals Chelsea and Liverpool were paying for their new signings. Club owner Stan Kroenke has been criticised by most fans for refusing to spend enough money when needed in the transfer market. Following the recent 5-1 humiliation away to Liverpool in the Premier League which exposed most of the team’s serious problems, several fans have been calling for signings to be made this month. However, speaking on transfers at his press conference on Thursday morning, Unai Emery revealed that the club is not financially capable of making any permanent purchases of players at the moment. Thus, the Arsenal boss insists that loans deal will be the Gunners’ best bet in the January transfer windo...
