VIDEO: Brighton & Hove Albion vs Arsenal Highlights, Match Stats and Review

Arsenal had to pay heavily for a first half defensive error by Stephan Lichtsteiner as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton at Amex stadium.

We are halfway down the season and things have started to heat up in the Premier League, be it the title race, or the race for a Champions League spot, or the intriguing relegation battle right at the bottom. The Premier League is truly living up to its reputation of the most entertaining league in the world.
Arsenal visited Amex stadium on boxing day hoping to come back with all three points, for what looked like a routine victory on cards. However, Unai Emery and men were left disappointed as Brighton rallied to come back from a goal down to secure a crucial point, courtesy of a defensive lapse from Stephan Lichtsteiner.
Arsenal took the lead early on in the game, as Aubameyang scored his 13th goal of the season, which took him back to the top of the scoring charts. The joy couldn’t last long as Jurgen Locadia ended his barren run in the Premier League to make sure Brighton did not lose 3 games on the trot. Arsenal Pressed for a winner in the second half, but a toothless attacking display coupled with a steadfast Brighton defence meant that the Gunners had to settle for a single point.

The frustration was apparent on the face Unai Emery, who would have hoped for a better performance from his side, as both Chelsea and Spurs- their rivals for the Champions League spots, had left the place with all three points earlier in the season.

Emery confirms worrying transfer news for Arsenal on Thursday

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has confirmed some worrying news for Arsenal fans with less than three weeks now left in the January transfer window.   The Arsenal boss managed to sign several players during the summer but most of the deals were for a cheap price, significantly lesser than what rivals Chelsea and Liverpool were paying for their new signings. Club owner Stan Kroenke has been criticised by most fans for refusing to spend enough money when needed in the transfer market. Following the recent 5-1 humiliation away to Liverpool in the Premier League which exposed most of the team’s serious problems, several fans have been calling for signings to be made this month. However, speaking on transfers at his press conference on Thursday morning, Unai Emery revealed that the club is not financially capable of making any permanent purchases of players at the moment. Thus, the Arsenal boss insists that loans deal will be the Gunners’ best bet in the January transfer windo...
