Arsenal closing in on £30-million rated defender

With suggestions that the North London side Arsenal will be moving into the winter transfer market which reopens in coming weeks, there are reports that they could have more additions of new defenders.

This is inevitable with the Gunners now going to be without Mustafi and Sokratis in their next league games which will no doubt have an effect on the team.

However, it has been reported that the North London side are already closing in on German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji and will ensure he switches to the Emirates Stadium by sealing a deal in the winter transfer window.

Manuel Akanji is no doubt one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga and has been tipped to be a perfect fit to the Gunners team.

Although the 23-year-old Switzerland international has got a contract with the German Bundesliga side until 2023 with a release clause of £30 million, the North London side will do all it takes to have him join the club by submitting a more lucrative deal.
