How Arsenal Came Close To Signing New Chelsea Star Pulisic

Experienced journalist Jack Pitts-Brooke of the Independent has revealed how Arsenal came close to signing new Chelsea player Christian Pulisic in the early part of his teen years.
He disclosed that the young American forward had a trial with the Gunners at the age of 14 but was denied a move to North London because he didn’t have a EU passport.
This was before he had a Croatian passport and before Croatia joined the EU.
Christian Pulisic was confirmed as a Chelsea player on the second day of this January transfer window after the Blues agreed to a transfer fee of £57.6m with German Bundesliga leaders to make him the third most expensive signing in the history of the Stamford Bridge outfit.
The 20-year-old will spend the remainder of the season at Borussia Dortmund before linking up with Chelsea in the summer.
Arsenal were not in the running to sign Christian Pulisic before he signed for Chelsea earlier this week.
Only Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea were interested in a deal for him before he opted for the Blues.
The Gunners’ forward shortlist has been dominated by the trio of in-form Lille attacker Nicolas Pepe, young AS Roma player Cengiz Under and Boca Juniors sta Cristian Pavon.
