Lucas Torreira: It Is Incredible To Be In The Same Squad As Mesut Ozil

Lucas Torreira has claimed that it is “incredible” to be in the same squad as Mesut Ozil (via Arsenal.com).

There was some confusion when the defensive midfielder Lucas Torreira took the number 11 shirt upon signing for Arsenal last summer.

When explaining himself, the 22-year-old revealed that he took the shirt based on who he wanted to sit next to in the dressing room: Arsenal’s number 10, Mesut Ozil.

Now, the Uruguayan international has echoed that sentiment, claiming that it is “incredible” to be playing alongside the German playmaker.

“It’s incredible really to be able to be in the same squad as a player like Mesut Ozil and obviously other players too, players that have achieved a lot and have great quality. It makes me proud,” Torreira said in an interview with Arsenal.com.

“I’m really motivated to be a part of this team and I want to continue growing as part of this squad, which I think is a very good one.
