There’s an accountability now and training, you’ve got to go in there, you’ve got to perform, you’ve got to work hard and do all these things. I’m not saying they weren’t doing that under Arsene Wenger, it’s just a different regime. I think the club had gone a little bit soft.
“He’s come in and he’s made them a little bit stronger, a little bit firmer in training. And that’s where it counts. You can’t train soft and play hard, you’ve got to be putting it in from Monday to Friday and I think that’s happening on the training pitch.
“But he’s still got a bunch of players that he’s inherited, he’s still gonna need two or three windows to get his players in. And the Ozil thing is now, he wants to put him in the team for the creativity, but he’s left him out for a reason.
“If he comes back in the side and the same reason is still there, then he’s got to leave him out again otherwise he loses all credibility in the dressing room.
“He’s right on a knife edge now, but he’s got to be given time. I have to emphasise that.
