David De Gea set out out-earn Arsenal & Man United stars with mega £90m deal

David De Gea

De Gea’s Man United contract was set to expire this coming summer before the Red Devils activated an option to extend his deal for another year.
That means that De Gea will be free to leave Manchester United at the end of next season unless the parties reach agreement over a new contract.
So will the parties reach an agreement?
According to the Sunday Times, not only is De Gea close to putting pen to paper, but the Spaniard’s probable new contract could make him the highest earner in the Premier League.

Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil & Alexis Sanchez

Who are the best paid players in the Premier League right now?
Alexis Sanchez is widely reported to be at the top of the list. The Man United forward earns around £315,000 a week.
Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil earns just a little bit less. The German nets around £306,250 weekly at the Emirates Stadium.
Paul Pogba is third on the list pocketing £290,000 every seven days.

£90m Old Trafford deal

It’s believed Man United are willing to complete a £90 million deal with David De Gea. The Sunday Times report:
Reports that De Gea is demanding £350,000 per week to stay, only to be rebuffed, have raised eyebrows at Old Trafford given United would be likely to accept a wage at around that mark in recognition of the goalkeeper’s importance on the pitch.
It is thought United would consider a new five-year contract guaranteeing in excess of £90m — the largest basic pay package the Premier League has seen.

Other Man United deals

The Sunday Times also report that Man United are close to completing three other deals.
Marcus Rashford, Ander Herrera and Juan Mata are all being tipped with agreeing contract extensions in the next few weeks.

Emery confirms worrying transfer news for Arsenal on Thursday

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has confirmed some worrying news for Arsenal fans with less than three weeks now left in the January transfer window.   The Arsenal boss managed to sign several players during the summer but most of the deals were for a cheap price, significantly lesser than what rivals Chelsea and Liverpool were paying for their new signings. Club owner Stan Kroenke has been criticised by most fans for refusing to spend enough money when needed in the transfer market. Following the recent 5-1 humiliation away to Liverpool in the Premier League which exposed most of the team’s serious problems, several fans have been calling for signings to be made this month. However, speaking on transfers at his press conference on Thursday morning, Unai Emery revealed that the club is not financially capable of making any permanent purchases of players at the moment. Thus, the Arsenal boss insists that loans deal will be the Gunners’ best bet in the January transfer windo...
